MATA-NE

Mata-ne was launched with a pioneering mission: to bring authentic Japanese onigiri to Europe. As the first manufacturer in the Benelux and among the first in Europe, the brand led the emergence of a new FMCG category, introducing Asian convenience to retail shelves.

Over three years, Mata-ne gained recognition for its authenticity, quality, and product innovation. The production line was eventually sold, and the brand is currently on hold — not ended, but evolving.

True to its name, Mata-ne means “see you later” in Japanese — and that’s exactly what the brand promises: a future return, stronger than ever.
